2nd Annual Problem Gambling Prevention Symposium
301 W. Fourth St. Dayton
Ohio
This is a FREE EVENT
ALL are welcome!
Local representatives will open the day with a discussion on gambling in our community.
Our Key Note speaker, Cheryl Mahoney, will lead an engaging discussion of “Screens” and how they have impacted all of us!!
By screens we mean: cell phones, tablets, i-Pads, computers, laptops, gaming consoles, etc.
Excessive screen use has been found to negatively impact our: physical, mental and emotional health.
Screens, by their very nature, also open us up to a variety of new and potentially dangerous content!
Screens provide us with new opportunities for gambling. We now have more access and availability to gambling activities.
Fan Duel, Draft Kings, e-Sports, Skin trading, gambling apps, and on-line gambling are just a few of the examples.
This directly involves our youth, as they are one of the largest age groups utilizing screens.
Youth can gamble and do gamble illegally.
In addition, screens give us access to other potentially dangerous content…
- Alcohol, tobacco and drug ads (postings, blogs, images, threads, etc.)
- Violent content (games, video, gifs)
- Pornography
- And many other topics
This event features OVER 20 exceptional speakers.
The major focus this year is illustrating how problem gambling is related to other risky activities.
You will have a number of topic options to choose from in our 3 afternoon breakout sessions!
As done last year, we are offering FREE CEU’s.
This event also features: FREE Parking, FREE Continental Breakfast, and FREE Lunch!
