Consistently, there are more creative and fast paced forms of entertainment to help people escape, cope, or adjust to the stressors of life. Whether finding it through substance, technology, or a variety of other methods, individuals are becoming more daring, tech-savvy and tech-dependent. One area that has seen explosive growth exists in the world e-Sports and legalized sports gambling. As a result, Individuals have access to information and opportunities to play or wager 24 / 7. This workshop will explore the convergence between traditional video gaming and eSports as well as the psychological aspects, emerging trends and future considerations for prevention and treatment in sports gambling.

Presented by Prevention Action Alliance in support of our ongoing problem gambling initiatives and work with the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services this training will be provided by Dan Trolaro, MS / VP of Prevention – US / EPIC Risk Management.

This session will provide 3.75 hours of continuing prevention education approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board. Continuing education for social workers and Certified Health Education Specialists is pending approval.
